Bombay

  • Species: Siberian tiger
  • Born: 2012
  • Origin: animal trainer
  • Arrival at Stichting Leeuw: 2014
  • Living situation: alone

Bombay was in possession of a trainer who trained big cats for movies and commercials. He even spent some time caged at a furniture boulevard, to attract customers. But Bombay turned out not to be very suitable for these purposes and a shelter was sought for him. In 2014 he arrived at Stichting Leeuw.

He is a playful and above all smart tiger. He loves to play in his pond with his toys. Bombay adores his neighbours Drago and Iwan. They play together and often lie close to each other. For that reason, The Lions Foundation built him an enclosure right next to Iwan and Drago.

Although tigers do not naturally occur in Africa, we felt that Bombay could benefit of more space, peace and quiet. Bombay can now enjoy an almost free and peaceful life in his new forever home, with a nice pond and lots of vegetation.
