We’re very sad to announce that our beloved lioness Masrya passed away. Before the move to The Lions Foundation at Schrikkloof Masrya stayed a few weeks at the clinic of our vet in South Africa, Dr. Caldwell.
Her kidneys where failing which led to nausea and not willing to eat. With an intense treatment she did bounce back for a moment.
Once she arrived at The Lions Foundation her eating started to improve and the hope for her staying with us for some time got bigger. Unfortunately, the last two days this changed. Because of acute renal failure Masrya couldn’t get back on her feet and we had to let her go.

Masrya was a very special lioness with a special background, but also in her soft and kind personality. She had some beautiful years to enjoy along with Nero after a rough start in life.

We wish everyone our dear condolences with this loss. Masrya’s ashes will be scattered in Nero’s home on South African soil.

Masrya, you’ll always be in our hearts!
